How did Queen Latifah's transformation from being Dana Owens change her?
Queen Latifah, whose real name is Dana Owens, has a new movie out called "Joyful Noise" where she plays a conflicting role challenging Dolly Parton to save a church choir.  So, how did Dana Owens change when she decided to be called Queen Latifah? Queen Latifah added more emotion to her personality, more ability to feel the different characters that she might be portraying. She also gave herself permission to put herself first instead of continually self-sacrificing for the good of others.  Her boundaries also got firmer and were better enforced.  One of the qualities that were added, to her advantage, was her ability to imagine and be even more creative. On the personal side, Queen Latifah also declared, with this new name, that she would become a blessing for others.

What is up with the name Barbara that Streisand wanted to remove one of the ‘A’s?
The name Barbara holds many challenges as there are many ‘A’s so that spirituality, not religion, is important. Barbara’s are highly competitive and there are high expectations for success both self imposed and from others. Barbara’s have fairness issues and want the world to be fair for everyone according for their own definition of fairness.  Barbara’s may have a hard time speaking up for themselves, and yet they don’t have any problem speaking up for another’s rights. They don’t want another person to get the raw end of a deal. Barbara’s feel its important to be likable while simultaneously unwilling to change who they are to get liked as they know that can be fleeting.  When Streisand deleted the second ‘A’ in the spelling of her name, it diminished her need for absolute justice even though it is still important.

Are Sherry’s as Sweet as the Wine?
Sherry is a fortified wine made from white grapes that are grown near the town of Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.  Per Wikipedia, most Sherry’s are initially dry with the sweetness added later.  So, does the name Sherry have anything to do with being dry or sweet?  The name Sherry represents a person who is smart in school, needs her freedom and requires alone time to be able to reflect. She is a great listener and is easy to like. Sherry’s are as charming and desirable as the wine.

Joe is short for Joseph, does that mean he gets a short personality too? 
Joe is smart and a leader and one who has to be his own leader, as he won’t find a guru that has his answers for him.   He has to be careful not to diminish himself in order to fit in with the crowd, as that will lead him off of his life path and possibly into experimenting with addictive behaviors via the use of alternative substances or sex. Joe is generous with his time and would probably be a prankster of sorts and have a great sense of intelligent humor.   He’d be fun and a bit full of himself.  Remember, the last name influences all of the characteristics found in the first name and can make them either easier or harder to see.
